BRITISH EAST INDIA COMPANY MADE  A MONOPOLY/TAX IMPOSED

After the disaster of the Townshend Act, Lord North has decided to make the British East India company a monopoly whilst imposing a modest Tea Tax. “Surely the colonists would like to pay much less for Tea and in gratitude be willing to pay their fair share in taxes to the Crown.” Prime Minister of Great Britain, Lord North . American Activists however, find the tax to be Unfair and another instance of Taxation without Representation. Ships carry the tea are being turn back at every harbor.

BOSTON TEA PARTY

Governor Thomas Hutchinson  had let three ships full of tea from the British East India company in to the port of Boston a few days ago. Unfortunately  they were attacked last night. Over three quarters of a million dollars worth of tea was thrown into to the harbor. None of the 342 chests of tea that was bound for the colonies was retrieved despite reports of some poorer colonists scavenging the tea for their own use. The perpetrators are unknown. Although it is to be believed to be some of the more  radical townspeople, there is also reports of Indians who stormed the ships.  No arrests have been at this time

CONTINENTAL CONGRESS CONVENED FOR FIRST TIME. 

With the British imposing the restrictions of the intolerable acts, the First Continental Congress was convened in Philadelphia. A declaration of  colonial rights was sent to London. If Britain decided to ignore the Declaration then the Congress will re-convene in May of 1775.

DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE!

After a series of events that included Hessians being sent to our country  by the Crown to “get us under control”, the first Declaration of Independence has been sent to the Crown. Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson was chosen to draft the Deceleration with Jefferson,  the most elegant writer’s version being the one sent.  It was signed by all with Hancock making sure his signature was the largest. It is said this would either be the birth of a nation or the death of the signers.

AT LAST AFTER 9 YEARS OF WAR , AMERICA IS OFFICIAL!

The Treaty of Paris is signed. It is official!.America is Independent of Britain. We have a new nation,  we are finally our own people!  Much thanks to our very own Benjamin Franklin for all his hard work  as well as  John Jay, Henry Laurens, and John Adams.  Let us celebrate like we did on July 4, 1776, the day of our independence.
